Ramu, a singer with visual impairment, tries to earn a living for his family through his meagre income. However, his life changes when an evil man with hidden motives promises him his eyesight.

Ramu (Nandamuri Balakrishna) is an orphan whom Lawyer Raghava Rao (Jaggayya) and Gayatri Devi (Sharada) had adopted and treated like a son, as one of their four children. Ramu was very sensible and loved his parents a lot, he could do anything for his parents. Once Ramu meets Sita (Rajani), who is the daughter of the servant in their house and falls in love with her. Ramu's freedom and rights in the affairs of their house is not liked by their own sons Satish and Ramesh (Hari Prasad and Bhaskar) and son-in-law Gopalam (Sudhakar). So they plan and remove Ramu from their house and take all the authorities. Now Ramu is trying to reunite his family. Whether he will he be successful in his mission forms the rest of the story.

Nanna Preethiya Hudugi (transl. The Girl I Love) is a 2001 Indian Kannada-language romance film directed and written by Nagathihalli Chandrashekar. It stars newcomers Dhyan and Deepali in lead roles and actors such as Lokesh, Bhavya and Suresh Heblikar in other prominent roles. The story is based on Chandrashekar's own decade-old short story "Malenada Hudugi, Bayaluseeme Huduga".

Seetharamu is a 1979 Indian Kannada-language film directed by V. Somashekhar. The film stars Shankar Nag, Manjula and Thoogudeepa Srinivas. The film is based on a science fiction plot of a brain transplant. The movie was remade in Telugu as Seethe Ramudaithe, starring Shankar Nag in his Telugu debut, and in Hindi in 1995 as Diya Aur Toofan. The song Ee Roopave Nannee Baalina was earlier used by Chellapilla Satyam for the 1978 Telugu movie Annadammula Savaal, which incidentally was a remake of the 1977 Kannada movie Sahodarara Savaal.
